Thigh Lift - Thighplasty

Thighplasty is a thigh lift and is recommended for patients with considerable loose skin on their thighs and buttocks.  This often happens with a large weight loss but can also be the sign of aging with loss of skin elasticity.

A thigh lift is performed under general anesthesia and usually begins with liposuction.  The surgeon will then remove any excess skin before stitching with dissolvable sutures.  It usually takes between 2 and 4 hours to complete the procedure but the exact time varies based on the individual patient.

As with any surgery, infection, swelling, and bruising can result from thighplasty.  It can also result in noticeable scars along the thigh and buttock.  Most patients can resume normal activities that are non-strenuous after two weeks of the thighlift.
